Our client is a leading freight forwarding and logistics company in the USA.  They are dedicated to providing their clients with efficient, reliable, and cost-effective shipping solutions. They are currently seeking an experienced Air Import Coordinator to join their team and contribute to our continued success.

Job Summary

As an Air Import Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in our organization by ensuring the smooth and timely export of air cargo shipments. You will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the air import process, from booking cargo space to preparing and submitting necessary documentation. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of air export shipments, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Communicate with customers, carriers, and internal teams to obtain shipment details and provide status updates.
  • Book cargo space with airlines, negotiate rates, and arrange for transportation to the airport.
  • Prepare and review export documentation, including airway bills, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all shipment-related documentation to minimize delays and errors.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and provide timely updates to customers.
  • Collaborate with customs brokers to facilitate customs clearance processes.
  • Handle any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the export process, including cargo discrepancies, delays, or regulatory challenges.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in export regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in the development of efficient export processes and procedures to improve departmental operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in air export coordination within the freight forwarding industry.
  • Knowledge of air import regulations, documentation, and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications, including Microsoft Office and logistics software.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a hybrid remote/office work environment.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
