Job Title: Import Billing Agent

Location: Wood Dale, Illinois (Hybrid Working Model)

Salary: Up to $55,000 per annum


Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Import Billing Agent to join our client’s dynamic team in Wood Dale, Illinois. This role will support their import operations by ensuring accurate billing, maintaining comprehensive records, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in billing, preferably within the import or logistics industry, and the ability to work both remotely and on-site as needed.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Billing and Invoicing: Prepare and issue invoices for imported goods, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and international trade regulations.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain and organize all billing-related documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and import declarations.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers regarding billing inquiries, discrepancies, and payment status. Provide exceptional customer service to resolve issues promptly.
  • Internal Coordination: Collaborate with the import and logistics teams to verify shipment details and ensure timely and accurate billing.
  • Compliance: Stay up-to-date with international trade regulations and ensure all billing practices comply with relevant laws and guidelines.
  • Reporting: Generate and analyze billing reports to support financial planning and decision-making processes.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline billing processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.



  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in billing, accounting, or a related role, preferably within the import or logistics industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with billing software or ERP systems.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in billing and documentation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve billing discrepancies and issues efficiently.
